CORONAVIRUS AND THE LAW: LOVE HURTS - A POST SCRIPT.

Updated: Jan 14

Anyone who follows this blog may remember that on 19th December I posted about a couple of recent news stories connected with coronavirus [1]. One of these stories was about a young guy, Dale McLaughlan, who went on a jet ski journey from Scotland to the Isle of Man to visit his girlfriend, Jessica, who lives on the island. Mr McLaughlan ended up being given a four-week sentence of imprisonment for breaching coronavirus restrictions.

A Scottish newspaper, the Daily Record, has recently posted an update to this story, adding a few more details. According to the report, Mr McLaughlan spent around £5,500 on the jet ski and said he felt 'like a crappy James Bond'. And, ironically, during the journey - which lasted several hours longer than he had expected - he listened to music, including 'Love Is All Around', by......Wet Wet Wet.
